Saturday, January 28, 11am to 3pm: RainWise Work Party and Delridge Bus Triangle Workshop

Local activism! Saturday, January 28 – Learn about rain gardens and rain garden maintenance, get a free tree, and help plan the new Delridge Bus Triangle.

RainWise Maintenance Work Party and Tree Give-Away
with RainWise staff and DIRT Corps

11am – 3pm: take home up to four free yard trees
Starting at 11am: Guided rain garden pruning and plant care of the HPIC gardens
Starting at 12:30pm: Learn how to maintain your existing RainWise garden – take a tour/walking workshop around the HPIC building for tips on rain garden and cistern care.

Movie Night this Friday, January 20

Doors open at 6:00 pm with a children’s short at 6:15 and the main movie at 7. Free admission. Volunteers will be selling popcorn, candy, and other movie fare. Bring blankets and pillows or sit in our chairs. This is an all ages event. Bring your friends, family and neighbors.

Special New Years Eve Corner Bar – Saturday, December 31

Join us for our 8th Annual New Years Eve Celebration, including a special costume-party Corner Bar! Saturday, December 31 – starting at 6pm…until it’s 2017.

We encourage everyone to dress up or come in costume!

The Not-So-Silent Night Parade.
Assemble in the HPIC parking lot at 6pm. Bring noisemakers, flashlights, umbrellas – whatever is necessary! Parade starts when everyone is ready.

McTuff will play sets through the night, with DJ Evan and DJ Dr Lehl weaving dance tunes early and later. RL Carroll will be there to take your keepsake photos.

Get ready for 2017 with your friends and neighbors close to home!


Beverages – Draft beer, wine, special cocktail and champagneAs always, we offer a wide assortment of non-alcoholic beverages as well. Please remember that no outside alcohol is allowed.

Green Guidance – Walking or bicycling to the event is encouraged. It’s green, it makes the neighbors happier and provides a safe walk home!

Parental Guidance – There are toys and games set up on tables. Parents, please be aware of your child’s activities.  Activities such as ball throwing and chasing games are discouraged.

Feature movie hint: This 1998 PG (1 hr 41 minutes) movie starring Michael Keaton is the tale of a man who’s trying to be a father, a husband, a breadwinner, and he’s trying to do what he loves to do. Ultimately he realizes that if you don’t pay attention to the people dearest in your life — your family — you could lose it all. Jack, an often-traveling blues musician, has spent little time with his son. He dies in a car accident and then realizes his mortal life mistake of not being there for his son. Then Jack “came to life one day” as a snowman to repair his lost time.

Bottles and Brushes, Friday December 9

Sign up for our first Bottles and Brushes class and paint a picture of your pet. Taught by Maureen Clark. Dec 9, 7pm. $35 covers all art supplies. 21+ Cocktails, beer and wine available for purchase, as well as non-alcoholic drinks and snacks.
