Remembrance

Remembering Dorothy Barich

We mark the passing of long-time neighbor and club member Dorothy Barich. She and her departed husband Bill built their house together on 11th Ave SW in 1949, where Dorothy, a Master Gardener, Flower Show judge and flower arranger, maintained a beautiful garden. Dorothy and Bill were active in HPIC “back in the day.”

Dorothy could be found pulling weeds in her parking strip garden into her 90’s, and was a friendly and warm conversationalist. She is survived by two daughters and numerous grand and great and great-great-grandchildren.

Lifetime HPIC member Martha Mallett, has made a donation to the club in remembrance of Dorothy, and in honor of Dorothy’s love of gardens, we will plant a row of huckleberries at the north edge of the club grounds in her memory.
