Movie Night this Friday, October 21

Doors open at 6:00 pm with a children’s short at 6:15 and the main movie at 7. Free admission. Volunteers will be selling popcorn, candy, and other movie fare. Bring blankets and pillows or sit in our chairs. This is an all ages event. Bring your friends, family and neighbors.

Short movie hint: Ruh-roh! an animated short Halloween cartoon with Scooby Doo!

Feature movie hint: This 2013 PG (91 minutes) animated feature is set in a Transylvanian hotel where only monsters are allowed.

HPIC Corner Bar Welcomes Ari Joshua and Phriends – This Friday 10/7

We have a small change: the hand of fate brings us Ari Joshua and Phriends.

Friday, October 7th, doors open at 6 pm.

DJ Evan will be setting the mood until the band starts, as well as after band sets.

Beverages Draft beer, wine, and special cocktailAs always, we offer a wide assortment of non-alcoholic beverages as well. Please remember that no outside alcohol is allowed.

This month’s special cocktail – Spicy Nectarine Margarita!

Green Guidance – Walking or bicycling to the event is encouraged. It’s green, it makes the neighbors happier and provides a safe walk home!

Parental Guidance – There are toys and games set up on tables. Parents, please be aware of your child’s activities.  Activities such as ball throwing and chasing games are discouraged.

HPIC’s new fence! – volunteer designed and built

Thanks to Billy Markham who persevered and got this done – and all the people who helped, some pictured here and some not. This fence welcomes all to our outdoor space, allowing Corner Bar and other events to come outside into a safe and neighborly enclosure.

Call for Vendors! 2016 Holiday Bazaar

Highland Park Improvement Club (HPIC) member Christie Sjostrom is organizing the Holiday Bazaar again this year and is looking for vendors.

The cost is $25 ($20 if you are an HPIC member) to rent a table. We are looking for handmade arts and craft items to be sold – no commercial items please (such as Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, etc).

Bazaar will be on Saturday, November 12th from 10 am to 3 pm. Space is limited, so if you are interested, please email Christie at csjostrom@hotmail.com.
