Highland Parkers at Delridge Days

A nice group took a stroll on Saturday to the Delridge Days/Refresh Southwest event at the Delridge Community Center. On the way they picked up trash, photographed things that need work (tagging) and visited various neighborhood sites. Here are some photos by Dinazina, with more on her flickr stream here.

Results from our 2010 Wine For Our Times Event

We had a great time at our 2nd annual WINE FOR OUR TIMES event!

See Dina’s 100+ pictures here.

We got to know more neighbors and tasted some good wines – and some not so good ones – that won’t break the bank.  We were able to raise more money than we hoped for the Building Fund of the Highland Park Improvement Club.  Meeting our fundraising goal, combined with the opportunity to meet new people in our community, makes this event a very successful one for us. Thanks to all who were a part of it!

Our TOP THREE wines:

#1        Trader Joes Reserve Syrah, Paso Robles 2007
#2        Haystack Needle Syrah

Thank you to all of our guests that joined us this year, to the table captains who played a big part in coordination of the event, to the merchants who donated our prizes and raffle items, to all who helped prepare the wonderful food and desserts, and to those who helped plan the event!

We all had such a good time planning this event, and look forward to seeing you all next year.  We’d love to hear your feedback – what worked, what didn’t, and suggestions for improvement – so we can make the event even better next year.

Cheers!

Nicole
