HPIC Corner Bar Welcomes The Subversive Square Dance Society – This Friday 9/5

Friday, September 5th, doors open at 6 pm.

We’re going to square dance (and line dance) with The Subversive Square Dance Society! The bands will be Rabbit Stew String Band and $4 Shoe. There will be callers and lessons will be given “as we go”. Fun will be had!

Draft beer, wine and special cocktail Lynchburg LemonadeAs always, we offer a wide assortment of non-alcoholic beverages as well.

Green Guidance – Walking or bicycling to the event is encouraged. It’s green, it makes the neighbors happier and provides a safe walk home!

Parental Guidance – There are toys and games set up on tables. Parents, please be aware of your child’s activities.  Activities such as ball throwing and chasing games are discouraged.

Once again it’s time for a Highland Park Tailgate Party!  Blue Friday, August 22nd at 7:00 PM.  Come cheer on your favorite team at the Highland Park Improvement Club.

Please bring your own refreshments and snacks. There is no cover charge. This is an all ages event. Bring your friends and neighbors!

Movie Night this Friday – August 15

Movie hint: In this 2013 animation, a teenager finds herself transported to a deep forest setting where a battle between the forces of good and the forces of evil is taking place. She bands together with a rag-tag group of characters in order to save their world.

Celebrate the 4th at HPIC’s Corner Bar!

Friday, July 4th, doors open at 2 pm.

Music will be located outside on our new Courtyard Stage (weather permitting).

 

DJ Rich will be spinning 70’s Rock & Funk.

At 5 pm, we present The Spoils! The Spoils play classic American rock of the 1970’s as they were meant to be played. Featuring the master guitar work of Milky Burgess and rock solid drumming of Don McGreevy of HPIC favorites, the Yada Yada Blues Band. The Spoils will go on at approximately 5 PM after the people have been properly prepared by the good DJ Rich.

Bouncy House!

For the kids, we will have a bouncy house in the parking lot, courtesy of Rain City West.

HPIC is a fireworks free zone – We will not have or allow any fireworks at this event.

Parking – Please park at Riverview Playfield, if you must drive. This event will take up our entire outside, including the parking lot. Please walk if you can. We will reserve a couple of spots by the alley for anyone requiring special assistance.

Improv Alive classes start in July!

HPIC welcomes a new class with instructor Julian Schrenzel.

Engage in improvisational shenanigans with us at the Highland Park IMPROVement Club in West Seattle! Join the Seattle Improvisation Community – Improv for Non-Performers for another EPIC evening! $15 for a 90-minute exploration with a community of like-minded explorers. You only live once..

Seattle Improvisation Community Meetups/Class enable you, no matter what your experience, to discover the value that practicing improvisational games on a regular basis can bring to your work-life, family-life and relationships.  Improvisational play is a highly effective way to practice being in the moment, communicating with honesty, thinking on your feet and approaching life with confidence. Gain valuable skills through improvisational play. Most importantly, join us and HAVE FUN!

If you want to: be more confident in meetings, more fearless in personal situations, become a master communicator and a collaborative leader at work, with your family and in your community. If you like: movement, dance, comedy, improvisation, exploration and having fun.
