HPIC Tailgate Party this Saturday – January 10th!

Come to the next Highland Park Potluck Tailgate Party, this Saturday, January 10th at 5 PM.  Admission is free.  Doors open at 5:00, with game time at 5:15.  Bring your own beverages. Bring a dish or snacks to share, if you like.  Join your neighbors in cheering on your favorite team!

This is an all ages event. HPIC is an inclusive organization, so come cheer on your favorite team, whichever one that might be!

Celebrate 2015 with New Years Eve at HPIC!

Friday night comes early with our Corner Bar opening for the New Years Eve celebration! January 31st at 6pm until 2015.

Join us for our 6th Annual New Years Eve celebration, including our Corner Bar!

6 pm. The Not-So-Silent Night Parade.
Assemble in the parking lot at 6pm. Bring noisemakers, flashlights, lanterns, umbrellas – whatever is necessary! Parade starts when everyone is ready!

The Sage Comet Performance, A Festival of Light.
The performance will begin after everyone has returned from the Parade.

The Sage Comet Performance has been cancelled due to illness, so step on into HPIC after the parade for our third Annual New Years Eve Corner Bar!

 

 

DJ Doctor Lehl will host The Dance Extravaganza from 8 pm until 2015, administering to our needs,  assisted by DJ Evan and Scott Rainier on live bass. We encourage everyone to dress up or come in costume.

Movie Night this Friday – December 19th

Doors open at 6:00 pm  with a children’s short at 6:15 and the main movie at 7. Free admission. Volunteers will be selling popcorn, candy and other movie fare. Bring blankets and pillows or sit in our chairs. This is an all ages event. Bring your friends, family and neighbors.

Double Feature!

Children’s Movie Hint: In this 1965 25 minute television classic,  Charlie B. tries to find the true meaning of Christmas.

Movie hint: In this 2011 PG (97 minutes) feature,  Santa’s clumsy son Arthur gets put on a mission with St. Nick’s father to give out a present they misplaced to a young girl in less than 2 hours.

HPIC Corner Bar Welcomes Sundae + Mr. Goessel – This Friday 12/5

Friday, December 5th, doors open at 6 pm.

 

This will be a “Holiday Party at the Neighbors!” with seasonal music provided by Sundae + Mr. Goessel. Click on the image above for a taste. They will be playing holiday tunes as well as their usual repertoire of vintage pop from the 1930’s. We will be singing carols and there will be an ugly sweater contest. Remember: there is no more forgiving time than the holidays, so let’s party!

West Seattle Food Bank Donations!

This is the donate to the West Seattle Food Bank. We will have a collection point at Corner Bar. Nucor will donate $2 for every pound of food and $2 for every dollar that you donate! This is your opportunity to triple your donation!

Ugly Sweater contest!

Bring your ugliest sweater and win! Besides bragging rights, you get this handsome set of moose mugs. We will be holding this contest instead of the usual adult raffle.

The perfect accessory for an ugly sweater.

Green Guidance – Walking or bicycling to the event is encouraged. It’s green, it makes the neighbors happier and provides a safe walk home!

Parental Guidance – There are toys and games set up on tables. Parents, please be aware of your child’s activities.  Activities such as ball throwing and chasing games are discouraged.

We will also have our hoodies available for sale. $30 for Adult sizes/$25 Child sizes. These make the perfect Christmas gift. They also make an ideal additional garment to cover up your ugly sweater. They come in the gray with red lettering (shown) as well as Black  with red lettering. There are some pullovers in black. Most sizes are available in kids and adults. We will be selling them at Corner Bar, Movie Night and the upcoming Tailgating parties later this month.

Free Wreath-Making Workshop – Sunday Nov 30th

Monica Cavagnaro offers this post-Thanksgiving and post-Black Friday workshop

Gather with others to create your own holiday wreath.


Workshop will include ideas on theme, shapes and decorations.

Participants must bring their own greens:
Ivy, Wisteria or other vines, evergreen gathered from the ground after a storm, or trim your yard trees.

Decor/tools to bring: bulbs, wire, nippers, pine cones, string, yarn, ribbon, etc.

We supply the tables, inspiration and ideas.
