HPIC is for Rent!

Did you know that HPIC offers discounts on hall rentals to neighbors and active HPIC members? Need a bigger space for that family get-together and live in the 98106 zip? A 4 hour weekday rental would only be $150. It is less for active members and much less for instructors renting to teach a class.

For more information, please see our rental pages: http://www.hpic1919.org/rentals/rental-rates/ or email us with any questions. Email: hpic1919@gmail.com

Join us at HPIC during the NW Green Home Tour! Saturday 4/26

You are invited to come to Highland Park Improvement Club (HPIC) to check out a gathering place becoming green!  HPIC is a Sustainability Stop on the NW Green Home Tour, an annual tour featuring sustainable homes.  We will be open from 11 am until 5 pm.

Visitors to the HPIC Sustainability Stop will get a chance to check out the newly completed features, participate in a “Design Your Own Rain Garden” activity, talk to RainWise contractors, and hang out with neighbors!  Plus, there will be a mini-self guided tour of nearby RainWise rain gardens.

Shuttles to South Park will be available between 1pm and 3pm so you can check out how that neighborhood is becoming a green village.  The site will be hosted by RainWise, Sustainable Seattle, Stewardship Partners, and the Highland Park neighbors.  Check out a full list of NW Green Home Tour stops here (www.nwgreenhometour.com).

This is a great chance to see our new courtyard! We will see you there!

Highland Park UNCORKED – register online

On-line registration is now open!

If you have never been to one of our winetasting events (or have a somewhat hazy recollection), here is the overview. Each person brings a bottle of their favorite wine, priced at $15 or less. You are assigned a table. The bottle is placed in a brown paper bag, given a number and eventually placed somewhere on your assigned table. You don’t worry about that, as you relax with the wines from the award winning Northwest Wine Academy, mingle with your neighbors, and munch on a wonderful spread of food prepared by our talented gastronomes.

For much more information, please go to our About the Event page.

The tables fill up fast, so register now to ensure that you have a seat.

Become a sponsor! Sponsorship is available, starting at the $100 level.

Lots of great prizes have been donated for the raffle drawings, so be sure to bring some cash or credit cards to buy tickets.

Did you know that the HPIC is owned by the neighborhood and run by members of the club, who volunteer their time? We are the ONLY club in Seattle like this, making Highland Park a truly unique place to live. A community creates a sense of camaraderie, belonging, security and support and the club is here to support the spirit of community by bringing neighbors together for wonderful events like UNCORKED, Corner Bar, Tailgate parties, weekly classes and special events.

All proceeds from Highland Park UNCORKED go towards improvements for your Highland Park Improvement Club.

Corner Bar is Diggin’ Spring

We hope our new Courtyard (almost done!) helps make walking the neighborhood more pleasant. We encourage you to walk/bike to Corner Bar if you can!

HPIC Depave Day is this Saturday – March 22

We’re building an oasis in the asphalt – a courtyard, replacing a portion of the parking lot with permeable pavers and more gardens. So we have some asphalt that needs to be ripped up and taken away. Bring your muscles and whatever you need to vent this Saturday and help us hoist chunks of asphalt outta here. The asphalt will be prepped, scored and ready to rumble into a big Dumpster that will cart it away.

We will start at 10am till however long it takes. Lunch will be provided and activities for all ages. And yes, there will be beer and other refreshments after all that hard work.
