We are honored to have been nominated for an award from Sustainable Seattle for Transforming Spaces.
With the help of Rainwise, Sustainable Seattle, King County Green Grants, DePave, and a lot of community volunteers, this community hub in Southwest Seattle transformed an asphalt parking lot into a permeable courtyard surrounded by plantings. The transformation also includes a 120′ long community blueberry and huckleberry hedge, a cistern, and two raingardens, with a community designed and created mosaic bench telling the story of stormwater in the works.
